Hello everyone and thanks for taking your time to read my blog!

Have you ever fancied travelling to Dubai for afew nights and combining this fabulous place with a 7 night Dubai & Emirates cruise?

The Costa Serena is based out in Dubai from December from the 12th December 2014 running through until 27th March 2015 on a 7 night round trip taking you to places such as Muscat, Khasab in Oman and Abu Dhabi.

The hotels in Dubai are fantastic and can meet anyone who has a particular budget to keep too!
From 1 star to 5 star luxury, Dubai has every kind of hotel you could ask for, do some research and pick the best hotel for you.

Then theres always the brilliant Emirates Airlines that will fly you direct from many airports in the United Kingdom and great prices, complimentary food and refreshments plus a whopping 30kgs per person luggage allowance.

1) Ripcord by iFLY, an indoor skydiving experience
2) North Star, a pod on top of the ship
3) SeaPlex, the largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea with bumper cars, roller skating and more.
The new Quantum will also host the first Jamie's Italian restaurant at sea, theres a first for everything.

Dynamic Dining on Oasis Class

The Grande Restaurant
American Icon Grill
Silk
Are you all looking forward to the new dining concept being adapted to the Oasis Class?

In addition to the above restaurants Royal Caribbean will also offer 4 speciality restaurants.

Izumi Hibachi & Sushi
Sabor Taqueria & Tequila Bar
Wonderland Imaginative Cusine
Coastal Kitchen

I peronally feel this will be a great addition to the ships, no standard dining times, eat when you like, eat at a different restaurant each night, this way you get to sample all of the different styles of food they have to offer, or if you have a personal favourite you can dine in that particular one every night.

Happy Sailing Everyone!

Anthem of the Seas

Hello and thankyou for taking time to read my blog on the brand new Anthem of the Seas which will debuting in April 2015.

This is the ship that everyone will want to sail on, Royal Caribbean have pulled out all the stops to make this ship the best out there.

The newest concept on this ship will be the new Dynamic Dining Experience, this is a first from Royal Caribbean and personally I think will be a hit, imagine not having to go to the same restaurant every night, trying different styles of food on a daily basis.

The new restaurants they have onboard which are complimenatry are as follows:

  • American Icon Grill
  • Chic
  • Silk
  • Grande
  • Coastal Kitchen
There are a total of 18 different restaurants onboard including Jamies Italian - the first at sea, these restaurants come at a small cover charge.

Even the Inside Cabins have a Sea View - they have a projection screen which gives passengers the same view as what the guests who have booked Balcony Cabins - real time views from outside the ship.

Here are afew images of what you can expect to see and experience on the great new ship!

For everyone who can not be without there phones or tablets the WIFI facilities on this ship will be available and just as fast as on land, if not faster, this would be great for me as Im never off both.

Lastly the latest in technology is something that everyone will need to go and expereince - The New Bionic Bar! This is a great place to go for a drink, in here you order your favourite drink on a tablet and then watch a robotic arm make and deliver your drink to the bar, an amazing feature which I believe will be a massive hit, so book now and be one of the first people to witness this new amazing technology.

For any information please feel free to contact me on 0161 798 2511 or email colin@cruiseclubuk.com

Have you flown with the 5* Emirates Airlines

Hello everyone just a quick blog with my own views on Emirates.

Having recently travelled with Emirates I thought I would share my experience with them.

From the moment of check in to boarding the plane the whole concept it was a 5* experience.
The friendliness of the check in staff to the boarding staff was very welcoming.
The cabin interior is light and nicely decorated. You get a feeling of space when entering the cabin and look forward to finding your seat.

Seat pitch is the best I have ever sat in, I'm nearly 6 foot tall so the extra leg room is a must for me.
Complimentary food and drink is served at nice leisurely intervals, the food by the way is beautiful and that is saying something for airline food, drinks are a plenty and even include alcohol.

The whole flying experience with Emirates is excellent and I definitely will be flying with them again.

Well done Emirates!!

Altinkum Turkey....Try it!

Hello Everyone and thankyou for taking the time to read my blog.

I have just returned from Altinkum in Turkey and just thought I'd share afew words on this beautiful place.
The area of Altinkum is literally very appealing to all ages, all different kinds and styles of hotels and the local people are amongst the friendliest that I have made in a long time.

This particular area is less developed than neighbouring Bodrum or Gumbet but you can still find plenty to do. Everything you buy in Turkey is always worth a haggle to try and get the price down, even though everything here is alot cheaper than back home in the UK.

Plus the main point here is the weather! I travelled on 19/06/14 for one week and the weather was an amazing 41 degrees and sunny every day and was continuing to rise daily, I didnt see one cloud in the sky all week.

I would personally recommend to anyone who has not travelled to Turkey before to take a trip as you wont be disappointed.

Costa Cruises - love or hate them?

Welcome to my blog!

Today Im going to be talking with regards to my views on Costa Cruises.

Having been in the Travel Industry now for over 9 years Ive heard all the tales people tell about Costa Cruises, to which I find completely untrue and unfair.

I returned back from Dubai in March 2014 having sailed on the Costa Fortuna for a 7 night cruise around the United Arab Emirates.
The ship is older compared to the other brand spanking new ones that are around but I found the ship to be amazing! I didnt see or witness any off the things that people post on trip advisor or other websites with regards to leaking toilets and showers, loud and aggressive people, staff not pulling their weight.
I found the whole experience of my time onboard to be great, very well organised and professionally led.

We had a great Balcony cabin onboard located on deck 9 - midship and so convenient for all amenities.

They do the usual Muster drill before leaving Port, yes it comes in 5 different languages which can be very annoying but safety is paramount.

I must say that there All Inclusive drinks package is a must! £19.00 per person per day is a bargain for any cruise ship especially compared to the like of Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean & Norwegian Cruise Lines.

With all Cruise Lines they do have a gratuity charge, Costa Cruises are mandatory and charged at 8 Euros per person per day, some people dont like to pay this charge but for the service you receive I dont see how anybody can complain, the bar, waiters and cabin attendants are the most helpful and professional staff on the Seas.

To end this blog today I say give them a try - I love them!!

To Cruise or not to Cruise?

Its always a struggle on where to decide where to book for your holidays. Should it be a 7 or 14 night holiday to Majorca, should it be Self Catering, Half Board or all Inclusive, decisions decisions?

My personal thoughts on this would be to go on a Cruise, imagine waking up in a different destination everyday, seeing new sights, meeting new people, being constantly on the move.
A cruise is more than a floating hotel it offers you the best of everything, from dining and entertainment to relaxing in one of the onboard Spa's.
Fine dining in one the speciality restaurants, which is a must atleast once whilst onboard.

Please follow my blog for interesting views on cruising.

Onboard
Oceania decor is traditional luxe, with the requisite polished, dark mahoganies, muted fabrics and rich-colored carpets. By virtue of the ships' sizes, it's not difficult to find yourself oriented by the first day at sea. (Even the much larger Marina and Riviera are a cinch to navigate, though you can expect a more colorful, modern palette.) These ships bear a high ratio of standard balcony cabins.

Service is enthusiastic and gracious, courtesy of the well-trained staff.

The dress code is country-club casual, intended to partner perfectly with the line's "whatever you want, whenever you want" mindset. Oceania neither encourages nor discourages children onboard; however, no children's programs are in place, and there is little else to keep boredom at bay, apart from customary table tennis, shuffleboard and Monopoly in the game room.

Oceania operates four ships. Its 30,277-ton, 684-passenger Regatta and Nautica, part of the original fleet, were designed by the defunct Renaissance Cruises. The 66,084-ton, 1,258-passenger Marina and Riviera launched in 2011 and 2012, respectively. Many consistencies link the quartet, while some differences set them apart, as the newer builds, being larger, have room for more facilities and amenities.

What all share is an all open-seating dining policy and a variety of restaurants and lounges onboard. There are four restaurants each aboard Regatta and Nautica. In addition to the traditional main dining room scenario (albeit with no set tables or seating times), there are three specialty restaurants (The Polo Grill for steaks, Toscana for Italian and Tapas on the Terrace, the buffet-by-day that converts to alternative restaurant at night), which do not levy additional charges. Oceania's newer Riviera and Marina have additional options, from the Asian Red Ginger and French Jacques Pepin to the upscale Waves Grill and La Reserve wine-tasting menu.

All spas are operated by Canyon Ranch, the noted American destination spa company. The spas offer premium services at rather reasonable prices, and the thalassotherapy whirlpool on the two smaller ships is complimentary with the purchase of a spa treatment. (The same applies to similar pools on the forward deck on Marina and Riviera's facilities.) The fitness center offers Pilates and yoga, along with the usual aerobics classes.

Casinos are small, but there are plenty of slot machines. An elaborate afternoon tea is served daily.
About Oceania Cruises
The brainchild of cruise industry veterans Frank Del Rio and Joe Watters -- former heads of Renaissance Cruises and Crystal Cruises, respectively -- Miami-based Oceania Cruises emphasizes a destination-intensive floating-hotel experience with top-notch food and superior service. The cruise line originally operated vessels from the defunct Renaissance Cruises. (Its 684-passenger R1 and R2 were renamed Regatta and Insignia.) Nautica, another Renaissance R-class vessel, joined the fleet in 2005. (Oceania Insignia has been chartered to Hapag-Lloyd, where it sails asColumbus 2, until April 2014.)

In February 2011, the line's first new-build, Marina, was christened, and a nearly identical sibling, Riviera, debuted in May 2012. Holding myriad original artworks, the Bon Appetit Culinary Center and mega-chef Jacques Pepin's first namesake restaurant, the vessel sets an even higher standard for the line.

Still, it was Regatta, launched in summer 2003, (and Insignia and Nautica, which followed) that originally set the tone for Oceania's unique style. The company has spent more than $10 million to refurbish these late-1990's vessels, and it shows. Public rooms, including restaurants, are graceful and elegant. The redone pool area is surfaced in teak and boasts teak furnishings (including fabulous double sunbeds). Cabins have been tweaked and feature more comfortable bed linens and mattresses.

In 2007, Oceania was acquired by New York-based Apollo Management, L.P., an investment company that specializes in private equity, debt and capital markets. Quickly following the acquisition, the line placed orders with Italy's Fincantieri shipyard for its first new-builds, a pair of 1,258-passenger vessels, the aforementioned Marina and Riviera.

Overall, Oceania has managed to create what we call a luxury lite experience, defined as offering luxury-level food and service with fewer inclusions (such as liquor, shore tours, and pre-cruise hotel stays) in its base fares.
Oceania Cruises Fleet
At 30,277 tons and with a 684-passenger occupancy, Regatta and Nautica fall firmly in the mid-ship size range but offer the wide variety of amenities and options usually found on deluxe-priced lines.

Also in the mid-ship size range are the 65,000-ton, 1,252-passenger Marina, which debuted in February 2011, and sibling Riviera, which launched a year later.
Fellow Passengers
Passengers tend to be older (50 and older), are well traveled and hail mostly from the U.S. and Canada. The line also markets to English-speaking travelers from the U.K., Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
